This national leading Utilities company has continued to be an industry leader within their sector and is currently seeing a large number of programs in motion.  An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Automation and Delivery Manager to work on a large Transformation Program of work.   They are looking to improve service, productivity and customer / employee experience across the business and IT teams.  In this role you will be responsible for setting up and owning the Enterprise Automation and Improvement framework and set up the continuous evolution of the Automation strategy.

  • Setup & Ownership of the Enterprise Automation & Improvement Framework (including Federated Operating Model, Process’s & Standards
  • Set up and continuous evolution of the Enterprise Automation Strategy, linked to business strategy & goals
  • Set-up of each domains delivery plan & governance framework (Delivery Hubs), ensuring effective prioritisation and delivery of top-down strategic initiatives and bottom-up, emergent opportunities
  • Development & maintenance of a 3 year ‘rolling’ Automation & Improvement Strategy & Roadmap for each corporate/business domain
  • A&I Business Case Development, linked to A&I Strategy & Roadmap
  • Design, engineering, implementation and ongoing operation of intelligent automation technologies (either through the A&I Service Centre, or interdependent IT Support Team (e.g. Del Boomi) 
  • Co-ordination of the interdependent delivery teams

Core Requirements 

  • Extensive IT experience in large, complex and geographically distributed organisations
  • 10+ years experience and 5+ years in a senior delivery role
  • Pragmatic and customer oriented IT Delivery/portfolio leader, with a proven ability to integrate seamlessly with corporate and business domains
  • Able to work across multiple streams to ensure the right resources (resources (people, technology, funding) are available at the right time to ensure rapid, streamlined delivery (minimises non-value adding delays)
  • Strong communicator, highly effective in engaging and collaborating with all level of stakeholder
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple internally and externally resourced delivery teams
  • Proven ability to manage and innovate in large, multi-business unit, operational environments without getting into the detail
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid delivery models, with demonstrated flexibility to operate across each method, aligned to business need (while proactively championing Lean/Agile Delivery)
  • Demonstrated experience in proactively managing cost / benefit
  • Proven ability to drive and enforce standardisation in a constructive way
