Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist engineering support, quality assurance and compliance assurance of Routine Maintenance delivery within a geographical Region for all related assets to ensure compliance to the relevant standards, procedures, engineering instructions and safety systems
- Conduct technical field quality inspections of maintenance activities and provide technical advice to maintenance staff on corrective actions to assist in the achievement of a high level of compliance with relevant standards and approved procedures
- Investigate and report on major incidents and significant track equipment failures, ensuring that the root cause of all incidents is identified; making recommendations to manage the risks identified and monitor action plans arising from these investigations
- Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the current condition for each rail corridor within the region. Undertaking detailed review and analysis of all Condition reports to identify defect trends and areas requiring corrective maintenance
- Provide timely & accurate reporting to the Senior Manager Civil Engineering, including detailed incident investigations, compliance reporting, defect management and data analysis to forecast asset condition trending and recommend corrective actions
To be considered, you will have the following
- Tertiary qualification (Degree) in Civil Engineering or related discipline or equivalent substantial experience
- Proven experience in Rail Track asset management, maintenance, construction and commissioning works in an operational environment
- Strong understanding of maintenance engineering principles and their application to maintenance and operations, including an understanding of relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice
- Knowledge of Asset Management and maintenance planning
