Job description

​​​​​​The primary purpose of the role is to provide support across the Sydney Metro Communication and Engagement functional group in the areas of community relations and public communication
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Attend to public enquiries in person and via phone, email and social media ensuring members of the community are provided with accurate and up to date information and an efficient, friendly and professional service
  • Liaise with Community Information Centre Manager or Communication and Engagement Liaison team members to obtain responses to more complex or technical enquiries
  • Keep up to date with Sydney Metro Program developments via regular Communication and Engagement Liaison internal briefings and undertake training as required to ensure best practice in service delivery
  • Identify and recommend promotional opportunities to foster good relations with the community and other stakeholders and actively promote the Sydney Metro Program at identified opportunities, when interacting with stakeholders and community members
  • Participate in the preparation for presentations and other communications events to special interest groups at local events and visits to corporate clients and to other stakeholders to further promote the activities of the Sydney Metro Program
  • Assist in the implementation of communication strategies that increase build relationships with the community and increase public awareness

 
To be considered, you will have the following

  • Demonstrated community liaison experience in a public sector or equivalent environment including dealing with face-to-face interactions, and responding to over the phone and email/website written enquiries
  • Knowledge and experience in community liaison and stakeholder engagement methods
  • Well-developed computer skills including social media, website content management system and experience in the use of Consultation Manager database or equivalent database system
  • Availability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends, as required
