Job description

My Client is large scale, leading retail group and one of the world’s leading providers of office supplies. They offer a diverse range of products and office machines, promotional products, technology, business services, and other office-related products. They pride themselves on being a company who deliver outstanding results by pushing the boundaries of innovation and creativity. 
 
The role:
Currently on the lookout for a credit manager on an initial period of 6 months, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the management, support and development of the Collections team, to supervise staff to ensure all money owed to the company is received correctly and in a timely fashion, ensure compliance to revenue recognition policies, ensure SLA’s established for the Collections team are adhered to and to work closely with sales.

Duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Manage a team of 5 people
  • Remain customer focused while evaluating the customers’ ability
  • Review, Analyze and Report of debts within the portfolio and prepare documentation for bad debt write off
  • Handle escalated matters
  • Ensure all arrears reporting and activities comply with company policies and procedures and legal requirement
  • Managing your own ledger of Accounts
  • Preparation of reports for management on debtor status
  • Provides support and guidance to internal stakeholders
  • Reduce DSO and overdue debt
  • Training
  • Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Staff ledger review
  • Other ad hoc duties

The ideal candidate:

  • High attention to detail, accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for Windows (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required
  • Must be multitask oriented, organized, set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues and root causes
  • Strong problem solving skills, adaptable and flexible to change
  • Demonstrate people management, including resource management allocation, driving high performance teams
  • Managers and identifies risk well to align with Governance and Compliance policies
  • This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adjust and interact with all levels of personnel
  • SAP
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
