Executive Assistant to the Principal 

  • Play a pivotal role in one of the largest independent schools in Victoria

About the Company

This large, prestigious independent school have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive EA. Reporting directly into the Principal whom is dynamic and very well-respected. This pivotal role will work closely with a well-tenured administrative team and will offer variety and the chance to be involved in collaborating on key initiatives. This high performing and innovative school is based in the Inner Eastern suburbs among impressive grounds and offers a supportive and collaborative culture. The school comprises of 4 schools, with over 2000 students and has an approximately 800 staff. 

About the Role;

  • Provide high level, professional and confidential administrative/ secretarial support to the Head
  • Coordinate extensive diary and email management
  • Minute taking, research, agendas and document preparation
  • Communicate and build strong relationships with the board
  • Screen all incoming calls and be a key stakeholder liaison on behalf of the Principal
  • Provide support with event preparation and board meeting co-ordination
  • Attend to enquirers from staff, parents and students in a timely and discrete manner
  • Process invoices & expenses
  • Office management duties including maintaining an efficient filling systems and archiving reports/ papers

The ideal candidate will have; 

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar high level administration support role to a senior executive within an organisation
  • Experience within the education sector (desirable) and / or professional services 
  • Experience in following office procedures and policies
  • Intermediate knowledge of the MS office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Expertise in providing extensive diary management and minute taking to an executive team
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, in particular accurate spelling and grammar
  • The ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • The ability to thrive in a fast pace environment, managing a heavy workload
  • High use of initiatives and problem solving skills
  • The ability to be flexibility with workings hours when required
