Job description
I am currently working with a large Engineering company based in South Sydney. They are looking for a Financial Accountant for a 6 month FTC. The team is dynamic and ambitious with a clear passion for building an efficient and value-adding finance function. You will be reporting into the Finance Controller for the duration of the assignment.
The scope of this role mainly lies with SOX testing and SOX compliance. The ideal candidate will come from a big 4 background and have sound knowledge of SOX policies and internal control processes. This is ESSENTIAL
Perfect for WHV candidate as is 6 month Fixed Term Contract
About You:
- CA/CPA Qualified ( Big 4 preferred)
- Highly Technical Accountant- SOX experience ESSENTIAL
- Experience in a large complex commercial organisation
- Experience dealing with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Experience in SAP preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong technical accounting expertise
- Take ownership of the role and be able to come in and hit the ground running

About the Role:
- Ensure all internal control processes are compliant with SOX guidelines
- Managing the month- end process to ensure compliance with deadlines
- Perform GL and account reconciliations ensuring compliance of statutory accounts with all relevant accounting standards
- Preparing tax compliance reports including periodic BAS reporting Performing monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reporting
- Continuous Process improvement and streamlining the areas of your responsibility to ensure accurate and efficient deliverables in line with best practice of business
- Work with SOX compliance team to support strategic and operations objective of the business to comply with the SOX environment
