About the Role:

My client is looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to come in and back-fill a vacancy within the Strategic Finance and Asset Management division. The work will largely consist of accounting for the company's Fixed Assets. Experience in management accounting, fixed assets accounting, financial analysis and business partnering is preferred. Previous exposure to the construction sector and project accounting would be highly regarded. Technical skills in SAP will also be required as well as a strong background in financial accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile fixed assets acquisitions, disposals, transfers, demolitions and constructions in the accounting and project management systems
  • Maintain data sets and update information on data systems specifically built for the AHO
  • Verify and analyse construction projects spend; ensure timely completion of projects and transfer of project costs into fixed asset accounts
  • Reconcile balances in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level accounts in the general ledger
  • Conduct periodic asset revaluation
  • Analyse and reconcile depreciation for all fixed assets; review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation
  • Conduct preparation of periodic management and financial reports with variance analysis and commentaries
  • Provide financial advice and insights by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions
  • Analyse financial performance and contribute to medium and long-term business planning/ forecasts and budgeting
  • Business partnering with different business teams
  • Provide support in financial modelling and business cases preparation
  • Provide information to auditors and assist with completing year end audit requirements
  • All other ad hoc duties as requested by Finance Managers
  • Assist in all-round tax accounting and compliance, focusing on PAYG, FBT, GST and BAS; review tax reconciliations and tax returns

Must Have:

  • Tertiary qualified, CPA or CA qualification
  • Experience with SAP, MS Excel and BI Tools user, HOME database (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills (you will be writing policies so you must have excellent verbal AND written skills)
  • Quick response time
  • Ability to self-manage and work autonomously
