HRIS and Payroll Manager, 12 month FTC, Sydney CBD, Financial services
The company:  
 
My Client is a market leading financial services company who provides a wide range of finance leasing products both commercially and to consumers. 
 
The role:
This is initially a 12 month fixed term contract with a strong possibility to go permanent.
Reporting to the Group Head of People & Culture, this role will be responsible for managing all internal requirements for configuration and updating of HR Information System – Workday.
This person will have a high level of technical skills, being able to work within the Workday system to assist with configuration to meet business requirements, as well as trouble shooting issues identified by users. They will also be involved in ensuring that any technical integration requirements or issues with our other HR systems are project managed to resolution.

Manage HRIS (Workday)

  • Maintenance of employee and company data in HRIS. This includes working with the business and HR Team to ensure that data entered into HRIS (Job Requisitions, Hire Data, Job Profiles, Organisational Hierarchies, Terminations) is accurate and up to date
  • Advise the HR Team and broader business about HRIS actions and processes
  • Full Responsibility for the Annual Compensation Review processes in HRIS (technical side). This involves liaising with HR Partners and the HRIS consulting partner for four months every year to ensure the processes go smoothly
  • Update/maintain HRIS training materials with each HRIS upgrade release (twice/three times per year)
  • Train managers on how to use HRIS if required
  • Provide HRIS trouble-shooting for any system errors
  • Maintain ongoing relationship with HRIS consulting partner and Workday Workday implementation and payroll integration project (2019 Calendar Year Focus)
  • Liaison SME with project
  • Attend meetings / represent P&C
  • Liaise back with team to represent interests
  • Comms back to team
  • SME role for payroll integration project and NZ Workday implementation
  • Create forms and automate payroll, L&D and HR requests where possible to create efficiency and meet audit requirements
  • Work with the HR team to identify continuous improvement for Workday configuration, aligned to HR processes and requirements
  • Working with HR and Payroll, build processes to ensure end of year audits result in zero issues identified Payroll support
  • Back up for payroll processing (zero error)
  • Process 1 monthly and 1 fortnightly pay per quarter
  • Partnering with the Payroll Specialist, create ‘how to’ payroll manuals (AU & NZ)

Workday implementation and payroll integration project (2019 Calendar Year Focus)

The ideal Candidate

  • Previous exposure to Workday administration is extremely desirable
  • Advanced Excel skills, i.e. Pivot Table and VLOOKUPS
  • Previous exposure to outsourced payroll is highly desirable

 
Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years being a payroll manager
  • High levels of attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to learn quickly is essential to be successful in this role
  • Strong sense of confidentiality and integrity
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a small team environment and partner effectively with a HR team
