The Role
 
My client seeks an experienced medical negligence associate who can act on behalf of the defendant. You will be exposed to a wide range of medical negligence matters including defending claims brought against doctors, nurses, hospitals, medical centres and dentists. You will be the strong contact with defendant clients, provide advice and run the matter through to settlement whether by conference or trial. You will be working shoulder to shoulder with a renowned partner in the space, assisting in supervising the team and running the civil claims.
 
Key Requirements
 
You will be a lawyer with at least 4 years solid defendant insurance experience from a well-known practice. Specific experience in health/medical negligence will be regarded highly but not essential. The partners would ideally like you to have personal injury experience.
 
In addition to this you will:

  • 4+ years’ experience in medical negligence law (ideally defendant focus)
  • Good communication and negotiating skills
  • Experience with reviewing and analysing medical evidence
  • Ability to manage large volumes of work
  • Good business development skills
  • Have the desire and ability to manage your own file load
  • Have an ability to maintain and foster client relationships
