About the role 

Joining a fun and vibrant team in the CBD, we are looking for a payroll officer with 2-3 years' experience to join our Shared Services team. This will be a 12-month assignment to help with the business growth. There is also a view to a permanent role for the right candidate. We are a work life balance organisation and are flexible to work from home 1 day per week once the fundamentals of the job have been learnt.

If you have the below, please apply

  • Provide excellent and proactive customer service in all dealing with your managed payroll clients and employees i.e. responding to email queries and phone calls
  • Setting up new starters – updating employee details and changes
  • Performing weekly contractors' payroll, currently 300 contractors
  • Generating reporting for the wider business
  • Entering timesheets
  • Exporting timesheets from a VMS system, reconciling, and uploading into our system
  • Assisting with company credit card - handling approvals and requests
  • Assisting with petty cash - handling approvals and requests
  • Preparing daily banking - i.e., making sure enough cash in payroll accounts to make payments
  • Child support
  • Paying monthly / quarterly super
  • Raising payroll invoices
  • Experience using excel - beginner to intermediate is fine
  • A high level of attention to detail and comfortable working in fast paced autonomous and process driven environment
  • Experience with payroll for contractors , labour hire and recruitment are very desirable but not essential.
