Job description

The Procurement Advisor will assist in the development and management of procurement strategies including supply chain analysis and effective governance to ensure sustainability and value for money is realised. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Creating individual procurement plans for each sub-category in consultation with relevant stakeholders 
  • Carry out ongoing value chain analysis to identify opportunities that will improve sustainability across council
  • Supporting all contracts and all sourcing strategies
  • Managing the process with regard to undertaking assigned projects from beginning through to awarding of contracts through compliance monitoring
  • Assisting with any other procurement activities as and when required 

To be successful in this role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business/Procurement/Supply Chain Management
  • Local government experience would be favourable
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role 
  • Excellent written and communication skills
