Job description
This leading organisation is currently at the forefront of their market. With several recent expansions overseas and with a large transformation currently in place, the need for an up and coming project manager with strong all-round project experience is required to join a profession and highly motivated Business Development team. In this role you play a pivotal part in engaging with key internal and external stakeholders and coordinate the new site projects.
The following skills/experience are essential for the position
- Supporting project execution through: risk / issue management, project monitoring, tracking and reporting, cross workstream dependency management, procurement, quality assurance, change management, and communication management
- Developing project plans for new site projects
- Managing the input of workstream leads and subject matter experts into key project activities; for example execution of detailed build design, operations, HR, physics, safety & quality and IT/Engineering processes
- Developing and maintaining key project documents including the central RAIDs log as well as meeting Agendas, Minutes and Project Status Updates
- Support with managing the overall budget and program costs
- Proactively monitoring progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
- Providing leadership and achieving outcomes within tightly controlled timeframes
- Ensuring the delivery of projects to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with program plan and program governance arrangements, and that committed business benefits can be realised
- Connecting with key stakeholders for the programs of work
- Leverage the GC Project and Program Management methodology and governance structure and contributing to its ongoing development
- Undertaking analysis to enable project-related decision making
Requirements:
- Substantial experience in managing complex and fast moving projects
- Outstanding ability to analyse, isolate and interpret business needs and assist in the development of appropriate solutions
- Experience in working collaboratively with various stakeholders, building stakeholder commitment to and readiness for change
- Identify and proactively manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies for the projects; track project benefits and outcomes
- Proven ability to lead delivery teams in agile environment working across multiple teams in various locations
- Extensive working knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- High level skills in MS Project, Smartsheet or other project management specific tools
- A high degree of initiative and a flexible approach – comfortable with competing demands, ambiguity
