About the Company:
This large government agency works to provide services that benefit the community to support the growth of NSW regions and local areas.
About the Role:
Accountable for appropriate asset accounting of assets worth $6.8 billion across a number of entities within the cluster.
Responsibilities Include:
- Implementing consistent revaluation, impairment and accounting policies for assets across the cluster
- Supporting strategic asset management, including supporting the business in preparing asset recycling and utilisation plans and asset strategies; preparing financial data and analysing trends relating to assets
- Maintain fixed asset register from acquisition to disposal
- High volume day to day and monthly transaction processing and analysis
- Delivering accurate day to day, and monthly reporting services in the Fixed Assets and Projects modules of FMIS Implementation of assets revaluation and comprehensive data reconciliation
- Auditing, policies and procedure implementation, process ownership, reporting and integrity of capital works (Work in Progress)
- Reconciliation of the fixed assets Register and General Ledger Accounts, Original, Tax and Accounting books
- Continually improve deliverables such as accurate reporting in an efficient manner of fixed assets
- Ensure process integrity in the delivery of timely and accurate services
- Deliver high level of integrity in the handling of complex processes, interfaces and data integrity
- Challenge existing procedures and provide efficient solutions and outcomes
- Carry out and complete project initiatives, activities and other tasks as directed by Supervisor, Line Manager or MOR (Manager Once Removed).
About You:
- Accounting qualifications: CA or CPA
- Experience working within public sector
- Strong understanding/ awareness of asset management, assets accounting and accounting standards
- Analytical and reporting skills to support decision making
