Job description
A fantastic opportunity for a qualified Financial Accountant has arose with a national client within the Retail & Consumer services space. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, this role will be pivotal in driving the financial accounting and reporting requirements while supporting the other functional areas within the business.
Responsibilities will include:
- Closing off a functional result within Supermarkets on a monthly basis, including the preparation of any required journal adjustments and preparation of profit and loss statement for a function, including review of variances to budget and prior year.
- Supporting the overall close of Supermarkets result on a monthly basis, including the co-ordination of inputs from other functional areas, and analysis of the result for completeness and accuracy
- Contact for accounting queries for Supermarkets.
- Preparation and review of general ledger reconciliations utilising BlackLine reconciliation tool.
- Involvement in ad hoc projects, such as simplification of processes.
About you:
- CA/CPA qualified
- Strong understanding of financial accounting concept
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with large, complex organisations
- Big 4 or mid-tier audit/business services background
- Strong problem solving and influencing skills
- Proficient system skills – Excel and Powerpoint. SAP and TM1 would be advantageous.
