Job description

We have a rare opportunity for a Health & Wellbeing Planner to join this local government authority. The role will be responsible for the development of the 2019-2021 Healthy City Action Plan (HCAP).
Responsibilities will include;
- Developing the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWP) and supporting action plans
- Facilitating the delivery of key initiatives that are contained in the Health and Wellbeing Action Plan
- Ensuring the progression and development of the HCAP as this will include actions to be undertaken by council and by key stakeholders
- Reporting outcomes achieved to Council and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)
- Evaluating the impact of the MPHWP
To be successful in this role;
- Tertiary qualifications in public health, health promotion, social sciences or related disciplines
- Experience in planning and implementing a broad range of health and wellbeing projects
- Proven experience in health planning and/or social planning and social research in a local government context would be preferable
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Previous experience negotiating and being able to influence outcomes in order to achieve set objectives
