This mid-tier  firm are highly regarded and ranked across multiple practices and have a range of clients, and this team have many highly regarded Partners offering a wealth of experience and knowledge, the senior team includes solicitors that are often relied on by organisations to advise on legislative changes and has been instrumental in their clients’ policy changes.
 
About the role
 
Based in their modern CBD office, this firm are looking for an experienced Workers Compensation lawyer to work with multiple Partners on a volume of matters. This role will involve working for a client base that includes both Insurers, Self-Insurers and Employers who are looking for assistance in response to the recent changes in Workers’ Compensation and therefore there is an advisory factor to this role.
 
This team have received excellent feedback from clients as they assist in implementing policies surrounding Workers’ Compensation in WHS and therefore the Associate will be expected to carry out a high level of client contact even in situations where a claim isn’t present.

In this role the Associate will be assisting clients from the inception of a claim that an employee may have made up to representing in a court or tribunal if the matters reach this stage. The Associate will be instrumental in discovery, preparation of briefs and communicating with clients.
 
About you 

  • At least 3 years’ post admission experience in defendant Workers’ Compensation
  • A desire to build a career within this area of law
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • Strong academics
  • Confidence in your ability to build relationships, internally and externally
