Accounts Officer

This large freight company based in West Melbourne (close to CBD) have an opening for an Accounting Officer to join their small finance team. This role will be reporting to and working alongside the Finance Manager  and will be required to work in the office (covid travel permit provided). 

The role requires an individual with at least 2 years experience in a similar high volume Accounting Officer position within the logistics, freight or supply chain industry. 

Key responsibilities will include;

• Processing Accounts Receivable invoices, issuing statements & following up unpaid accounts  
• Processing Accounts Payable invoices, match to vendor statements & prepare for payment
• Problem solving and query management 
• Matching payment remittances
• Reconciliations
• Reporting
• Process payment runs
• Assist team with any accounting admin 

Skills & Experience

• At least 2 years experience in a similar high volume role (logistics/freight industry)
• Excellent time management and attention to detail 
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Confident and helpful manner/communicator 
• Technically confident with systems and reporting and / or intermediate Excel skills
• Tertiary Degree (Preferred)
• Experience in Freight/Logistics/supply chain industry (Essential)
• Experience with 'CargoWise' system (Desirable)
