Key Responsibilities
The role will blend engineering, deployment, solution design and strategic decision-making for AI-centric projects. Another key part is collaboration, knowledge sharing, continuous learning and staying on top of emerging best practices.
- Design and implement AI-enabled software solutions
- Build scalable data pipelines, APIs, and cloud-native systems
- Define and own solution architecture in collaboration with stakeholders
- Translate technical outputs into clear business value
- Participate in Agile delivery and iteration cycles
- Ensure quality, maintainability, and scalability of systems
- Mentor and share knowledge across the teams
Software Engineering, broad and deep. Whether front-end, back-end, or full-stack, software engineering is a genuine passion and you have the proven experience to show for it. You understand event-driven architecture, you know what good code looks like, and you use AI to enhance your workflow without losing your curiosity about the why. Experience across languages like .NET, C#, Go, Scala, Java, Python, TypeScript or JS is well aligned, whether gained commercially or through personal projects on GitHub.
Cloud deployment, including testing and validating your work.
A natural communicator. You are presentable, socially comfortable, and enjoy engaging with stakeholders and clients to brainstorm ideas, break down problem statements, and build solutions that actually fit.
Artificial Intelligence. Commercial experience working on AI projects and applying AI Engineering techniques would be highly regarded. No commercial experience yet? We would love to see what you have built or written about via GitHub or a blog.
Ideal Experiences
- Deep practical experience with LLM APIs, including a strong understanding of architecture patterns, context window management, and prompt engineering at scale.
- Strong grasp of RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, and other knowledge management patterns. Adjacent experience with data engineering and pipelines would be viewed favourably.
- Systems integration expertise, including consuming, exposing, designing, and connecting AI capabilities into existing systems.
- High prototyping speed, with the ability to rapidly build proof-of-concepts and demos that build client confidence.
- Clear understanding of AI limitations, failure modes, and when to dial complexity up or down.
Approach & Mindset
- Comfortable working iteratively where requirements evolve, particularly given the nature of the technology and field.
- Comfortable in client-facing situations, including presenting technical concepts and running discovery workshops.
- Strong problem-solving creativity, with the ability to identify non-obvious applications of AI capabilities.
- Sound business acumen, with an understanding of what is commercially viable and genuinely valuable, versus what is primarily technically interesting.
- Able to assess when alternative solutions may be a better fit for a client and present a clear, evidence-based argument.
- Adaptable, proactive, and collaborative by nature
