Job description
Design Delivery Manager (Rolling Stock / Construction)Charterhouse are supporting a leading rolling stock program based in Sydney's Inner Western suburbs and we are on the lookout for a Design Delivery Managers to support across a large transport network.

- Managing a variety of design and/or construction projects across construction and infrastructure
- Facilitate collaboration with project stakeholders and support project activities.
- Attend project sites as required to support assigned projects, with the frequency of attendance dependent on project stage, delivery requirements, and possession access.
- Developing the Project Scopes and Design Brief with specific attention to site specific conditions, project integration and inter-disciplinary requirements. Communicate with subject matter experts to ensure clarity of scope and ensure that it reflects customer requirements.
- Managing various risk management activities such as ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures; managing development of SCARDS; organising risk management workshops; facilitating risk analysis and risk mitigation for projects; and recommending controls for residual risk.
- Project control including tracking progress and actual expenditure; and required reporting.
- As necessary, ensure effective contract management including developing Request for Proposal, managing tendering process, stakeholder management, contract administration, contractor performance management.
- Implementing Safety in Design (SiD).
- Identify and manage timely provision of design inputs.
- Facilitate engineering and assurance reviews for external service providers.
- Develop plans and provide regular reports on performance. Provide regular project updates against agreed cost and schedule, reporting on project delays, risks/issues, project performance and status to relevant stakeholders as requested
- Effective communication with customers, team members and internal/external stakeholders. Work in a transparent way to provide visibility at various levels of organisation.
- Identify when a change occurs, assess impact, inform impacted parties and manage change to minimize impact.
- May be required to work outside of normal hours, night shift, weekends and public holidays.
- Bachelor in Construction or Engineering
- At least 3 years in a design/construction project/delivery management role
- Rail Industry Workers (RIW) card (or willing to obtain)
- Previous project management of large-scale construction, infrastructure or rail
- Driving licence
