  • Immediate start, initial 6-month contract paying up to $650/day with likely extension. 

 

A chance to be part of a leading Melbourne Public Transportation’s established ePMO based in the heart of the CBD in a role suited for an aspiring candidate wanting to make a tangible impact on public transport infrastructure.  Reporting to the ePMO Manager, the primary focus of this role is to work closely with the ePMO team, Project Managers and Finance to provide support for all cost management activities throughout the project life cycle.   

  

Responsibilities will include:  

  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholder in the ePMO team, Project Managers and Finance department to enhance project cost control capabilities across the organisation.   

  • Build and maintain a Cost Estimation database tool that includes estimation, budgeting, capturing actual costs and cost data analysis.   

  • Develop processes for project cost management alongside the Cost Estimation Database, providing actionable information for Project Managers to have more autonomy over their own project cost control.   

  • Track and document cost progress against initial cost estimations, reporting this to senior management.   

  • Accurately forecast project costs to achieve defined targets across the projects portfolio.   

  • Provide support for additional cost initiatives throughout the entire project life cycle. 

  • Have a customer-focused mindset to engage with internal and external stakeholders.   

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships that will enable you to meet expectations of the project managers.   

  • Understand project issues and mitigate risks.   

 

About you: 

  • You are a self-starter, willing to roll up your sleeves and make an impact on the ePMO’s project finance capabilities. 

  • You have built Cost Estimation Databases before, with additional experience around building organisational project cost control capabilities.   

  • Exceptional project financial capabilities around estimations, budgets, analysis and reporting.   

  • Strong understanding on how an ePMO functions and operates in accordance with project cost control.   

  • Proven experience with IT & data analytics tools (such as SQL, Access Database) to present meaningful data insights.   
     

  • Fantastic stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities to manage a complex stakeholder network.   

  • Previous exposure to engineering or public transport infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.   

  • Flexible to work in changing environments.  

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and certifications around Project Management, Business Analysis, Commerce, Finance & Accounting.    

  • Strong work ethic and drive to go the extra mile in a dynamic workplace.
