The purpose of this position is to manage engineering teams to build the roadmaps, drive the projects (both greenfield and BAU), provide training, mentoring and communicate with the key business stakeholders.
The role reports to the Head of Engineering of a banking company with continuous growth
Responsibilities
- Improving the infrastructure and best practices within the organisation – Helping creating a centre of excellence
- Improving application architecture and lifecycles
- Improving and implementing best practices in DevOps
- Designing and building technical solutions to solve business problems
- Building a team to take ownership of services within the organisation
- Collaborating directly with other teams throughout the organisation
- Providing guidance to the wider audience of the technology team
- Grow the engineering culture through leading by example
- Creating a clear vision and strategy for the team
Skills
- In-depth experience with CI/CD & DevOps tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Packer, Ansible or alternatives)
- In-depth experience with AWS infrastructure and services (account management, VPC, Lambda, EC2, EKS, SQS, RDS)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with building and leading teams including hiring and mentoring team members
- Software testing & security
- Experience with mentoring and leading other software engineers
- Experience with microservices architectures and distributed systems
- Experience with working in technology teams at scale
