Financial AccountantBrisbane Southside | Manufacturing Environment | Up to $120K + Super | Site-based role, with flexible start and finish times.
A growing manufacturing business on Brisbane’s southside is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team. Supporting the Financial Controller, this role will take ownership of core financial accounting activities across the Australian operation within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working close to the detail while partnering with operational teams across production, warehouse, and commercial functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end close including journals, accruals, and reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis and commentary
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Oversee fixed asset register, depreciation, and asset tracking
- Prepare BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and support year-end tax compliance
- Reconcile inventory subledger to general ledger and investigate variances
- Partner with operational teams to ensure accurate transaction processing
- Support payroll accounting, including reconciliations and provisions
- Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor queries
- Contribute to ERP improvements and ongoing system enhancements
- CA/CPA qualified (or near completion)
- Strong experience in a financial accounting role
- Experience in manufacturing or inventory-heavy environments preferred
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax compliance
- Systems experience across ERP/accounting platforms (e.g. NetSuite, Xero or similar)
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-moving environment
