Job description

  • Up to $65.00ph + Super  
  • Fixed Asset Maintenance, Repairs and Management 
  • Parramatta Location 

My client is a prominent Government department based in the Inner West.  They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Financial Analyst with extensive experience within Fixed Asset maintenance, repairs and management needed ASAP for a 6 month assignment with the view to extend.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in Fixed Assets Reporting, Financial Analysis, Management Accounting and Business Partnering.  Previous exposure to the Construction Sector and Project Accounting will be highly regarded. Technical skills will also be required as well as a background in Financial Accounting.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Reconcile fixed assets acquisitions, disposals, transfers, demolitions and constructions in the accounting and project management systems
  • Verify and analyse construction projects spend; ensure timely completion of projects and transfer of project costs into fixed asset accounts
  • Reconcile balances in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level accounts in the general ledger
  • Conduct periodic asset revaluation
  • Analyse and reconcile depreciation for all fixed assets; review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation
  • Conduct preparation of periodic management and financial reports with variance analysis and commentaries
  • Provide financial advice and insights by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions
  • Analyse financial performance and contribute to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts and budgeting
  • Business partnering with Land and Housing Corporation NSW, Housing NSW, Business Services, Asset Management and Data Research Team
  • Provide support in financial modelling and business cases preparation
  • Provide information to auditors and assist with completing year end audit requirements
  • All other ad-hoc duties as requested by AHO Finance Managers
  • Assist in all-round tax accounting and compliance, focusing on PAYG, FBT, GST and BAS; review tax reconciliations and tax returns

Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications
  • CA/CPA Qualified essential
  • Previous experience within Fixed Asset maintenance, repair and management
  • Previous experience Financial Analysis/Management Accountant
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experienced in SAP and BI tools user, HOMES database desirable
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
