Charterhouse are partnered with a top local accounting and advisory firm who are seeking an intermediate accountant to join their growing team.With 50+ staff in their modern Newcastle office, the locally owned accounting firm provides energy, a supportive culture and a great work-life balance.
The role
The firm are looking for someone to step into an intermediate accountant role which will help them develop their business service skills and offer great career progression.
The role includes:
- Preparing Financial Statements and Tax Returns for various entities
- Completing BAS, IAS, FBT, CGT, and PAYG obligations
- Managing payroll tax and workers compensation reconciliations
- Liaising with statutory authorities and supporting clients
- Mentoring junior team members and contributing to training
- Participating in team events and monthly tax updates
- Supporting a culture of growth, accountability, and shared success
- You’ll work across a diverse client base – from ambitious family businesses to high-net-worth individuals – delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services.

- CA/CPA Qualified - desirable but not essential
- Minimum 3+ years experience
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field - desirable but not essential
- Strong communication, attention to detail and organisational skills
- A long-term vision to grow into a senior accountant role and manager role whilst delivering quality service
