Marine Underwriter – Sydney CBD

My client who is an international household insurance brand is seeking an Underwriter specializing in Marine to join their efficient Underwriting team. The position has come available due to growth in client base and further investment into this area of their business.   This opportunity would suit someone with experience in Marine Underwriting and building relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. Attention to detail is a must as well as having established underwriting authorities.  

Your responsibilities in this role will include:

• Manage established broker relationships whilst effectively building new connections
• Administering and delivering quality insurance documentation
• Identify business opportunities and aid in the creation of the new relationship
• Complete all administrative tasks and maintain quotation and renewal databases
• Act as a point of contact for your team to ensure a high level of customer service is maintained
• Cross check quotations/renewals with your high attention to detail
• Maintain knowledge with regards to insurance legislation Code of Conduct

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience in Marine Underwriting
• Demonstrated capacity to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Marine underwriting credibility and existing relationships with brokers desirable
