An exciting opportunity to work for a multifaceted, fast paced local government in a supportive environment based in the Eastern suburbs. The role will work across the marketing and communications department and will assist with promoting Council's community services programs and working on key projects across social media and Council website. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Identify opportunities and maximise marketing and promotions of Council’s economic development programs, events and festivals.
  • Work closely and collaborate with members of the Economic Development, Festivals & Events Units, and facilitate marketing and promotions for Council
  • Identifying areas to promote Council via social media and online channels
  • Reporting of Marketing campaigns and activities.
  • Market research
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and coordinate communications in other departments

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or related discipline
  • Successful experience delivering integrated multi-platform promotion and communication-orientated campaigns.
  • Ability to advise and support with a range of key marketing projects and initiatives  
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in event and campaign management
  • Ability to work to deadlines and excellent time management skills
  • Strong communication skills and high level of attention to detail

This role gives you the opportunity to be part of passionate, collaborative, warm and fun community, where you will be an integral part, maximising key events, programs and festivals. The role can be full time or part time for the right person, and offers flexibility. This is initially a 3 month contract, but there may be opportunity for longer term work within the local government sector.
