About the Role

  • The role will be responsible for Project Management duties with an immediate focus on a series of projects relating to Cyber Security and support of a number of initiatives across the IT uplift and Digital Transformation programs
  • The role and the broader Customer and Technology team supports the council vision to be an inclusive, healthy, creative, sustainable and smart community and be “Future Ready”.
  • Underpinning this are Community connectivity, a Data driven organisation with a leading ICT capability with the agility and responsiveness.
  • A range of ICT roadmap initiatives that underpins a broader transformation program, this role will provide the project management, direction and support for a number of projects in this roadmap. Some of the ICT roadmap initiatives include:
  • Security Information Event Management (SIEM)
  • Cyber Security Awareness
  • Network Access Control (NAC)
  • Cyber Security Policy Framework (VPDSF aligned)

Key Activities

  • Project scope definition
  • Project dependency mapping
  • Template and documentation build
  • Critical task tracking
  • Plan, implement and run physical changes to office, providing staff with the tools to work remotely (ensuring right hardware correctly configured for New Ways of Working)
  • Management and support of steering committee, documentation and minutes
  • Risks and Issues management.

Skills & Experience

  • Significant industry experience in infrastructure and cyber security projects
  • A working awareness of the VPDSF and ISO 27001
  • Understanding of cyber security concepts such as CIA
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise deliverables with high interdependency
  • Experience in maintaining traceability for audit findings and mandatory standards
  • Good understanding of security concepts and the technologies used to implement them
  • Significant industry experience and track record in a Project Management role
  • Well-honed stakeholder engagement and communication skills (verbal, written) to key executives and the wider workforce including Project Status and Executive level reporting
  • Able to develop, manage and maintain documentation to support Project Management work such as PID’s, GANT Charts, Resource plans, budgeting and financials. Balance Project tasks against BAU requirements
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Teams experience (as these are the key tools used currently)
  • Well-developed Change Management skills to ensure business and IT stakeholders are taken on the journey and are aware of changes to working practices
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics or another technical field). 
  • Project Management certification
