About the Firm
Charterhouse are partnered with a well-established mid-sized accounting firm located in Sydney CBD who are looking to appoint a Senior Accountant into their growing Business Services team.
  
This opportunity has arisen due to continued firm growth and a strong pipeline of new clients coming into the business.
  
With over 20 years in the market, the firm has built an outstanding reputation across Business Services, Audit and SMSF, with a team of 45 staff across the wider practice. Their client base is both diverse and high quality, including ASX-listed businesses, large privately owned groups, HNWIs and SMEs across a range of industries.
  
The Business Services division is known for its collaborative and supportive culture, offering a genuine “team-first” environment where staff are trusted, developed and given clear progression opportunities.
  
About the Role
This is a hands-on Senior Accountant role offering a mix of compliance and advisory work, with the opportunity to work closely alongside experienced Managers and Partners on a high-quality client portfolio.
You will take ownership of your own client relationships while gaining exposure to more complex advisory matters and supporting junior staff within the team.
  
Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing a portfolio of business clients across a broad range of industries
  • Preparation of financial statements, tax returns and other compliance work for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
  • Assisting with tax planning, cash flow forecasting, and business structuring engagements
  • Working closely with Managers and Partners on client advisory matters and complex tax issues
  • Supporting and assisting junior and intermediate accountants where required
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships as a key point of contact
  • Liaising directly with clients regarding tax and accounting queries
  • Exposure to a broad range of clients including large privately owned groups, HNWIs and SMEs
  • Assisting with workflow management and ensuring client deadlines are met

Skills & Experience
  • CA/CPA qualified or currently studying
  • 4–6+ years’ experience within Public Practice/Business Services
  • Strong technical tax and compliance knowledge
  • Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for a range of entity types
  • Strong communication and client relationship management skills
  • Motivated to continue developing technically and progress within a growing firm
