Job description
We are partnering with a well-established Chartered Accounting and Advisory firm located in the heart of Melbourne CBD that is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its high-performing team.This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys building client relationships, mentoring junior staff, and taking a hands-on role in delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio.
The Opportunity As a Senior Accountant, you will work closely with Managers and Partners, managing a varied client base across a range of industries. You will have exposure to complex compliance and advisory work while playing a key role in supporting and developing junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
- Manage a portfolio of SME and privately owned business clients.
- Provide tax planning, business advisory, and strategic support to clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Assist with workflow management and mentoring junior accountants.
- Liaise directly with clients, the ATO, and other external stakeholders.
- CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion).
- 4+ years' experience within Australian public practice accounting.
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work autonomously.
- Experience reviewing junior staff work will be highly regarded.
