My client is currently delivering and financing one of Australia’s largest infrastructure projects, on behalf of NSW Government.  They are currently looking to recruit a Senior Commercial Associate who will contribute towards the goals of meeting key business objectives within desired time frames.  Specifically, they will be required to support the Chief Finance and Investment Officer (CFIO) and the Investment Team in achieving their specific objectives. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide detailed input into development of the organisations strategy and operations through management of financial modelling and analysis to support decision making, including setting of priorities for Analysts and checking results.
  • Maintain consistency of the organisations information and financial assumptions made in relation to financial models, through the development and maintenance of quality and change control processes.
  • Presentation of the organisations financial modelling and analysis for reports and presentations, including board briefings.
  • Management of due diligence work streams and related service providers as part of any debt or equity raising processes.
  • Assist with providing timely advice to the Board in relation to the value of various private finance arrangements relating to Designated Road Projects.
  • Assist in the management of all financial and commercial aspects of Designated Road Projects under development and procurement.
  • Contribute to the organisations responsibilities with respect to implementation of a financing framework for project work streams.
  • Develop a sound understanding of the economic, financial and risk management issues of projects under the organisations mandate.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of key national and international infrastructure and financial market developments and trends.
  • Work in an open, collaborative manner when representing the organisation. In particular, maintain and build positive relationships with key stakeholders including NSW Government agencies.
  • Ad-hoc assistance with various analysis and reporting activities as required (e.g. regular stakeholder reporting, procurement of advisers, etc.)
  • Support staff development of analysts and associates 

Key Requirements:

  • Financial modelling for infrastructure or M&A projects
  • Managing financial and commercial aspects of project finance or corporate finance transactions, including due diligence work streams and related service providers as part of any debt or equity raising processes
  • Relevant degrees are engineering, commerce, law or finance
  • Experience: around 10 years post degree
