Job description

Manage Complex Clients Without Sacrificing Work-Life Balance
This is an opportunity to join a highly respected CBD-based accounting and advisory firm that combines the technical complexity and client exposure of a larger mid-tier practice with the flexibility, culture and accessibility of a boutique environment.
With a team of approximately 100 staff and multiple specialist divisions, the firm has built an outstanding reputation advising a diverse client base ranging from entrepreneurial businesses and high-net-worth individuals through to large group structures, listed entities and international operations.
If you're looking to step into a role where you can genuinely add value, mentor a team and work closely with Directors on advisory-focused engagements, this could be the ideal next move.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Manager within the Business Services & Advisory division, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients while playing a key leadership role within the team.
You will work directly with experienced Directors and manage a broad range of engagements including:
  • Complex business and tax advisory projects
  • Large group structures and consolidated entities
  • Management accounting and strategic reporting
  • Business structuring and restructuring advice
  • Mergers and acquisitions support
  • Cross-border taxation matters
  • High-net-worth individuals and family groups
  • Property investment and development groups
  • Consumer products, professional services and international businesses
  • Clients range from businesses turning over $1 million through to multi-billion-dollar listed organisations, providing exposure rarely found outside larger firms.
Why This Role Stands Out

Genuine Work-Life Balance
  • Flexible start and finish times
  • Hybrid working arrangement (3 days in the office)
  • A culture that values efficiency rather than hours worked
  • Minimal overtime expectations
  • No productivity monitoring or micromanagement
Rather than focusing on timesheets and utilisation targets, the firm operates through collaborative workflow management and regular team discussions to ensure workloads remain realistic and achievable.

Clear Career Progression
One of the firm's standout features is its structured and transparent career pathway.

Progression is supported by:
  • Bi-annual salary and promotion reviews
  • Clearly defined competency matrices
  • Regular career planning discussions
  • Leadership development opportunities
  • Long-term pathways into Director-level positions
Exceptional Training & Development
The firm has invested heavily in professional development with training delivered throughout the year, including:
  • Technical tax training sessions
  • Specialist tax presentations
  • External industry experts
  • Soft skills and leadership workshops
  • Access to CCH online resources
  • Tax Institute professional development programs
  • CA and CPA support including study leave
  • Dedicated mentoring from experienced leaders
  • Training occurs regularly throughout the year and is tailored to individual career goals.
Additional Benefits
  • Competitive salary package
  • Discretionary bonus program
  • Additional annual leave incentives
  • Wellness days every six months
  • Modern cloud-based systems and technology
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture
  • Exposure to technically challenging work
  • Direct access to Directors and decision makers
About You
You will ideally bring:
  • 8+ years' experience within Australian Public Practice
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Strong Business Services & Tax experience
  • Experience managing staff and reviewing work
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • A genuine interest in advisory and value-added client work
This role would suit an experienced Manager or Senior Manager seeking greater client exposure, stronger work-life balance and a transparent pathway for long-term career growth.
