Job description
SolicitorCharterhouse are supporting a well-regarded government organisation looking to appoint an experienced Lawyer to join their legal team on a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
Based in the Sydney CBD with a hybrid working arrangement (60/40), this is an excellent opportunity for a litigation-focused solicitor to contribute to meaningful public-sector work in a structured, 9–5 environment with work-life balance.

- Provide clear, concise legal advice and representation to clients across a range of matters.
- Conduct and manage litigation matters, including drafts, end-to-end.
- Analyse and interpret legislation and evidence to draft pleadings, submissions, court documents, briefing notes and correspondence.
- Research and draft advice; brief counsel where appropriate.
- Assist clients and key stakeholders with various matters, managing deadlines and facilitating efficient information exchange.
- Attending court hearings when necessary.
- Demonstrated experience in litigation.
- Current practicing certificate, preferably with government legal practitioner.
- Minimum 1 year of post-qualification experience as a solicitor.
- (Desirable) Experience in Workplace Health & Safety and/or environmental claims (defence or prosecutions.)
