SQL Developer / Applications Support

Job description

The SQL Developer / Report Writer / Application Support will be responsible for the creation, implementation and maintenance of SSRS, Crystal, and SSAS reports.
 
 
The SQL Developer / Report Writer / Application Support is responsible for the delivery of end to end business intelligence and report writing solutions that support and enhance the financial, clinical, and quality outcomes of the organisation.
The role requires a passion for data and technology, thorough understanding of ETL in a data warehouse environment, excellent communication skills, understanding of business processes, knowledge of best practices, and the ability to provide quality actionable business intelligence using industry standard tools in a rapidly growing organisation.
 
This job requires access to confidential and sensitive information, requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management.
 
Responsibilities
 

• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using SSRS, Microsoft Power BI and other reporting tools
• Develop and maintain integration jobs using SSIS to manage interfaces between 3rd party/external applications
• Understand complex stored procedure, SQL queries and table structures in order to provide information to business
• Maintain company Data Warehouse and improve visibility of data where necessary (i.e. through cubes) to provide required information to business
• Provide support on Retail, Warehouse and other business applications when necessary. As part of the support role, ensure adequate back-up skills exist within the department.
• Maintain contact with users to quickly solve any daily Application issues and raise requests to the 3rd party application support desk and follow up to ensure appropriate fixes are implemented.
• Ensure adequate documentation is completed. Creation of conceptual designs and technical designs where appropriate as part of improving productivity and enhancement of documentation.
• Establish rapport and communicate with all levels of users, writing conceptual designs and documentation the user can fully understand and conceptualise.
• Provide advice and training to users on best practice in the use of a business systems/BI tools
• Increase IT knowledge level of users by assisting educating new users into the business on the relevant IT system applications
