About the OpportunityWe're seeking an experienced Work Health & Safety (WHS) Advisor to join a well-established organisation with operations across Macquarie Park, Lidcombe and Sutherland. This is a multi-site role, requiring regular travel between all three locations, where you'll play a key role in promoting a proactive safety culture and supporting operational teams.
Offering a salary of up to $125,000 + super, this position is ideal for a WHS professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and driving continuous improvement.
The Role
- Providing timely and practical WHS advice to ensure compliance with legislative, industry and organisational requirements.
- Building trusted relationships with leaders and employees to foster a positive, safety-first culture.
- Coaching and supporting leaders to strengthen their WHS capability and confidence.
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of WHS systems, policies, processes and programs.
- Coordinating and supporting incident management activities, including reporting, investigations, corrective actions and assurance follow-up.
- Conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections and audits, while identifying opportunities to improve safety outcomes.
- Analysing WHS data and trends to identify emerging risks and recommend practical, sustainable controls.
- Supporting the development and delivery of WHS training, education and awareness initiatives.
- Assisting leaders to integrate WHS into planning, procurement, contractor management and day-to-day operations.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to support the delivery of the organisation's WHS and Wellbeing Strategy.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and participating in WHS governance activities, working groups and reviews.
- A tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary WHS legislation, risk management principles and compliance frameworks.
- Experience interpreting and applying WHS legislation within operational or high-risk environments.
- Demonstrated experience in a WHS advisory role, ideally within blue-collar, industrial, infrastructure or other high-risk sectors.
- Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and positively influence safety behaviours at all levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using data and insights to drive improved WHS performance.
