The Melbourne brand, based in the CBD has a unique opportunity for a Communications professional to support and contribute to their busy Customer Experience team, in ensuring timely and accurate customer information is relayed to the public. This position requires problem solving, exceptional communication skills and someone to think on their feet. This varied role will see you liaise with various stakeholders including the general public and department heads. The role will draft communications materials for planned & unplanned service changes.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assess passenger impacts arising from unplanned incidents
  • Prepare and implement accurate and professional information during unplanned disruptions including announcements
  • Plan and produce information bulletins, signage and social media content
  • Update passenger information content during planned disruptions including announcements, customer bulletins, brochures & website
  • Broadcast announcements via a remote PA system to provide up-to-date disruption information
  • Draft passenger information and briefing content to the design & production team
  • Providing information to various departments in relation to alterations to timetables, travel options and connecting services due to delays or service disruptions;
  • Various ad-hoc admin duties including data entry

 

To be successful in this opportunity, you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary communications qualification (desirable) and / or a proven track record of achievement in a similar related discipline
  • Proven track record of experience in communications within a customer service or operational environment
  • Ability to work on a rotating roster including early or late shifts and weekends
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, unsupervised environment with competing priorities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to adapt the level of communication to the audience
  • Previous experience using and managing social media platforms
  • Knowledge of Melbourne’s special events and geography is desirable
