About the Role

Our client, a local government authority based in the western suburbs is looking for a People Business Partner to join their People and Culture team. This is a full-time role, to start ASAP and is likely to be contracted until January 2026.  

This role is ideal for a confident, hands-on HR generalist with proven capability in complex employee and industrial relations matters. You’ll work closely with internal leaders and stakeholders, delivering trusted advice across areas including union matters, enterprise agreements, workplace investigations, and organisational change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and case management support across complex IR/ER matters
  • Engage with union representatives and manage consultative processes
  • Support managers with performance management, dispute resolution, and organisational change
  • Contribute to policy and procedure review and implementation
  • Partner with leaders across the business to support strategic people initiatives
About You

  • Degree in Human Resources or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Strong industrial and employee relations experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with unions and managing complex cases
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant employment legislation and enterprise agreements
  • Ideally experience working in a complex regulated environment, like Local Government Kindergartens / Early Childhood Education, Public Hospitals or Healthcare Sector
  • Experience working under an EBA
