  • Support the unit coordinator to deliver projects and effectively and efficiently manage administrative systems, procedures, and processes.
About the company

Our client, a local government in the western suburbs, is looking to hire a risk officer on a 3-month basis. The contract is to start in June, and it could lead to longer-term opportunities.

This is a full-time role, working Monday – Friday. The organization offers hybrid work options, generally in the office 3 days per week and 2 from home.



Your key responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the development and execution of robust annual work programs designed to enable business performance and drive continuous improvement of enterprise risk
  • Engage with people across the organisation, assisting in the planning, organisation and delivery of meetings, forums, events, and engagement activities.
  • Support the Coordinator in the preparation of documents and reports, for the Executive Leadership Team, Audit and Risk Committee and Council.
  • Supporting Audit and Risk Committee efficiency, coordinating activity for quarterly meetings, providing administrative support and communication of information to the Committee and management
  • Establish, maintain, and continually improve the unit workplan and systems, procedures, and processes in relation to administrative requirements that support unit efficiency.
  • Support procurement processes including administering tenders, seeking quotes, raising purchase orders and processing invoices.
  • Risk Management - Accountable for the implementation and maintenance of sound risk management within the areas of responsibility
You will have the following experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with minimal relevant work experience or lesser formal qualifications with relevant work skills.
  • Demonstrated passion and experience in establishing, maintaining, and continually improving best practice administrative systems and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, identify workload priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with internal staff and external customers through well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Advanced use of MS Office Suite applications.
