About the CompanyWe are looking for a Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner for a government client based in Burwood. This role is paying $66 - 88 per hour + super and is a 12 month contract.
About the Role
- Provide specialist assistance, consultation and advice to managers and employees in relation to WH&S including legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice, policy, procedures etc.
- Provide specialist assistance, consultation and advice in relation to workers compensation including Recover at Work program and Health & Wellbeing program.
- Develop, revise, promote and facilitate effective WH&S, workers compensation including Recover at Work processes and associated documents and ensure employees are made aware of these processes and documents.
- Monitor the WHS Management System (WHSMS) throughout the business and ensure that specific plans and programs are in place to effectively manage the WHS risk profile.
- Support the WHS management system and processes for the identification, assessment, control and monitoring of WHS legal compliance risks.
- Work with the Directorates to ensure that all local WHS systems of work (e.g. risk assessments, SOPs, SWPs, SWMS etc.) remain current and valid.
- Administer and maintain Workers Compensation, Rehabilitation and Return to Work services in accordance with legislation and industry best practice.
- Act as Return to Work Coordinator and coordinate the rehabilitation process for injured workers and the claims management process with the insurer.
- Collect accurate statistical data to provide information and/or reports and provide analysis of this information to the Director, People & Performance and broader Executive Team.
- Assist the Manager People & Culture operationally and strategically and ensure conforms to legislative and statutory requirements in regards to WH&S, workers compensation and Recover at Work issues.
Skills & Experience
- Sound working knowledge in leading investigations, audits and risk assessments
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and implement WH&S, workers compensation legislation, regulations, relevant awards, codes of practice, policies and procedures.
- Ability to deliver WH&S training to a range of employees.
- Demonstrated sound computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Strong planning and prioritising skills with the ability to develop practical solutions
- Demonstrated skills in building and maintaining positive working relationships with employees and managers across all levels of the organisation
