3-Month Initial Contract | Hybrid Working

Our client is a large and well-established organisation delivering major transport infrastructure and fleet modernisation programs across Melbourne. Working within a collaborative engineering and project delivery environment, you will support the introduction of new passenger rail vehicles and associated systems. This is an opportunity to contribute to a high-profile engineering program while working alongside experienced technical specialists and project teams. This role offers a dynamic work environment, exposure to complex engineering systems, and the opportunity to work on projects that support the ongoing development of Melbourne’s transport network.

About the Role

Reporting into the Program Support Manager, the Senior Electrical Engineer will provide technical expertise across rolling stock electrical systems and support key engineering, integration and commissioning activities across the program. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing electrical engineering expertise to support the delivery of rolling stock and associated systems
  • Reviewing engineering documentation including technical specifications, design submissions and engineering management plans
  • Participating in design assurance processes including engineering and technical design reviews
  • Supporting the planning and coordination of testing and commissioning activities, including system validation and verification
  • Assisting with the development and review of test procedures, commissioning plans and acceptance documentation
  • Working closely with suppliers, contractors and engineering specialists to resolve technical issues
  • Supporting the coordination of technical interfaces between rolling stock systems, infrastructure and operational environments
  • Providing engineering input into related infrastructure or systems projects where system interfaces exist
  • Identifying and managing technical risks, issues and engineering dependencies across the program
About You

To be successful in this role you will bring strong electrical engineering experience within complex infrastructure or transport environments. You will ideally have:
  • Experience working on rolling stock, rail, transport or complex infrastructure projects
  • Experience supporting engineering activities across project lifecycles including design, testing, commissioning and operational introduction
  • Understanding of systems integration within complex engineering environments
Professional engineering accreditation or working toward registration will be highly regarded.
