This is a permanent opportunity working within a wider security team and reporting directly to the Head of this security function.
About the Role
As a Senior IAM Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the operation and improvement of Identity and Access Management services across the enterprise. You'll work closely with Security Architects to help design and build scalable IAM and PAM frameworks that support secure access to systems, applications, and data. The organisation is a Microsoft house, so strong experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) is a big plus. You'll also bring hands-on experience across a variety of identity platforms. You’ll be embedded in the core security team, supporting ongoing operations while contributing to uplift and maturity initiatives in IAM and PAM.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and optimise IAM platforms across a complex enterprise
- Manage lifecycle events (joiners, movers, leavers) and role-based access controls
- Work with internal stakeholders to enforce least-privilege access models and improve security posture
- Troubleshoot identity-related issues and support escalated service requests
- Contribute to IAM improvement initiatives and integration projects as needed
- 5+ years' experience in IAM engineering or operational identity roles
- Strong experience with tools such as SailPoint, Okta, BeyondTrust, CyberArk, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), ForgeRock, Ping Identity, etc.
- Solid knowledge of Active Directory and Azure-based identity services
- Understanding of access governance, SSO, MFA, provisioning, and federation
- Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
- Ability to balance BAU with involvement in strategic initiatives
- Work in a stable, permanent position at a well-known Australian organisation
- Join a supportive and experienced internal security team
- Enterprise-scale tech environment with modern tools and platforms
- Flexible hybrid working options
- Exposure to IAM uplift and broader security transformation programs
