Job description
Reporting to the Payroll Processing Team Lead
Requirements:
High Volume Payroll
Job responsibilities:
- Perform a broad range of payroll related activities, for all University staff, including but not limited to new starter system entries,terminations, allowances and loadings, casual timesheets, tax details, etc.
- Perform a broad range of payroll reconciliations including but not limited to Long Service Leave, redundancies, severance payments, sick leave, workers compensation, over and underpayments.
- Respond to queries from University staff that relate to payroll matters that are not able to be resolved by the Shared Service Centre.
- Interpret awards/agreements and contracts in relation to overtime, shift allowances, etc
- Work as part of the payroll team with a strong focus on providing assistance to team members to ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate records and e-filing.
- Work as part of the overall team, providing assistance to other teams during peak periods by responding accurately to phone and email enquiries and providing administrative support as required.
- Contribute to increasing knowledge and capability through utilising opportunities for job rotation.
- Participate in ongoing payroll process improvement and various other projects, programs of work and committees to align with the overall University’s strategic direction.
- Performs other duties as required and commensurate with the classification level of the role.
