Primary Purpose of the Role
The Senior Manager, Procurement Business Partnerships will be the focal point for delivery operational and strategic procurement business partnering services across the University and its entities. The role is responsible for the leadership of a team of Procurement Business partners who will deliver procurement management services that reflect the University’s strategic plan and the needs of a particular stakeholder base. A key focus of the role will be the effective management and development of pipeline of procurement activities for the Business units across the University and its entities and overall leadership of the university’s Procurement initiatives
Major Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and senior management direction to the Senior Procurement Business Partners and Procurement specialists ensuring efficient and effective stakeholder support is provided and a healthy and effective relationship is maintained with the Business Units.
- Ensure high level of strategic engagement is maintained by the Procurement Business Partnerships team across the University and its entities by participating in committees, working groups and procurement projects as well as representing the Director, Procurement Services at internal and/or external venues or meetings as required.
- Ensure services and processes are aligned with best practice, implement and maintain systems that foster continual review and improvement.

- Provide leadership, guidance and oversight of the Procurement processes, sourcing initiatives, prioritisation, and delivery of procurement outcomes in line with Business strategy and priorities which include:
- Provision of stragtic advice by the direct teams on programs, projects, risks and opportunities ensuring appropriateness of sourcing strategies and options.
- Oversee and provide guidance to the team on the development and management of market engagement activities.
- Oversee and lead contract execution and award processes in line with the agreed team KPIs and SLAs.
Key Accountabilities
- Well-regarded and valued Procurement expertise and advice is delivered.
- Clear communication flows between Senior Procurement Business Partner, Procurement Specialist and stakeholder, resulting in procurement and project outcomes.
- Regular meetings with stakeholder groups are held.
- Engagement program for the team is delivered.
- Senior Procurement Business Partners and Procurement specialists are pro-actively involved in delivering procurement expertise and advise for significant initiatives.
- Director is supported as requested.
- Senior Procurement Business Partners Procurement Specialists and stakeholder areas are engaged with, to identify best practice opportunities and improvements and improvements are implemented.
- A relevant tertiary qualification and /or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant professional experience, education/training and achievement.
- Demonstrated high level ability to develop and manage long term relationships with internal senior stakeholders and key vendors including proven negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Extensive experience and understanding of working within a legislative and policy environment and sound understanding of technology relevant to this field.
- In depth knowledge of end-to-end procurement principles, sourcing processes, negotiations and Contract management principles, creation of frameworks and compliance matter.
