NSW Government Agency is looking for an Urban Designer to produce ‘block and stack’ master plan options and master plan reports for school projects.
About the role:
- Lead and implement design reviews at the various stages of design development for new school buildings.
- Develop and lead the design of new buildings, alterations and additions, and incorporate new elements and services
- Provide input and make recommendations for improvement to ensure that built facilities are designed and constructed to enhance learning and teaching, and are efficient to manage.
- Coordinate and manage Post-Occupancy Evaluations and Post-Construction Reviews of the Department’s education facilities.
- In achieving this, the position analyses findings and provides advice to inform the development of new designs guidelines and standards that support the continuous improvement of the Standards and Guidelines system.
- Undertake research and make recommendations that support the delivery of design excellence, value for money, sustainability, adaptability and flexibility.
Essentials:
- Tertiary qualifications in Architecture / Urban Design or another relevant field.
- In depth knowledge of Standards including the National Construction Code and the Disability Discrimination Act essential.
- Experience working on Educational projects is preferred
- Sound skills in Auto CAD and Revit required. Experience working with the online tool 'Giraffe' will be noted favourably.
