Job description

  • Assist this Council with redeveloping one of their council owned websites
  • Work from home & the office, Eastern suburbs
  • 4 month project - opportunity for more ongoing work

 

A local government authority are seeking a technical, digital communications professional for a 4 month period to assist with a website redevelopment project. The role will report to the Project Manager and will work closely with developers and communications team to create content in order to transform the online experience for customers. 


Responsibilities:

  • Engage, conceptualise and develop content across various online channels such as web, social and newsletters.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships across various functions in the organisation. 
  • Ensure the content follows WCAG guidelines
  • Ensure guidelines are communicated and adhered to by both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Assist with communications and marketing campaigns to align with Council’s brand strategies and develop simple digital communication processes to support campaigns and initiatives.  
  • Conducting website audits for the purpose of ongoing digital projects
 

Key requirements: 

  • A tertiary qualification in graphic and/or web design. Qualification in multimedia, filming, video editing or equivalent is desirable but not essential. 
  • Understanding of user accessibility and design experience across multiple devices with a focus on mobile.  
  • Strong skills using design software such as Photoshop, Sketch, illustrator etc. Basic skills in HTML5 and Drupal are desirable but not essential. 
  • Strong time management skills
  • The ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders
  • The expert capability to inspire users to transact and engage online. 
  • Previous local government experience would be advantageous but not essential
