WHS Advisor- $65 - 70 per hour + super
- Sydney CBD / hybrid - 3 days in office
- 3-4 month contract & permanent opportunities
We a seeking an Senior Advisor WHS for a 3-6 month contract and a permanent opportunity for a NSW government organisation based in Sydney CBD / hybrid. This is a hybrid role and is paying $65 -70 per hour + super and based on a 35 hour work week.
About the Role
- Manage WHS and injury management projects, including planning, resource coordination, risk management and reporting, to deliver initiatives that improve safety outcomes and reduce risk.
- Provide expert strategic advice and support to senior executives, people leaders and other stakeholders, enabling proactive WHS management, support with complex injury management issues, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement and review strategies and initiatives to improve the department’s work health and safety and injury management performance.
- Oversee the implementation and evaluate the effectiveness of WHS and injury management administration and activities, using data-driven analysis to recommend modifications and enhance future initiatives and processes.
- Assess organisational training needs and deliver tailored WHS programs, workshops, and presentations to build capability and enhance workplace safety practices.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the workers compensation scheme, WHS legislation, regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure relevant changes are communicated to management and staff.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to team members and engage with stakeholders, including WHS committees, to promote an organisation-wide culture of safety and accountability.
- Work autonomously and/or as part of a team demonstrating proactive and excellent organisational and communication skills with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement in a large, diverse organisation.
- Tertiary qualifications in WHS, Human Resources or equivalent extensive demonstrated experience and knowledge of WHS and Workers’ Compensation legislation.
- Experience in developing and implementing WHS programs.
- Experience developing management plans for psychological injuries and illnesses.
