Job description

  • Immediate start - six month contract opportunity
  • Engage with stakeholders across the business
  • Working from home

An exciting opportunity to work for a multifaceted, fast paced local government in a supportive environment based in the Eastern suburbs. The role will report to the  Communications Coordinator and will undertake mainly internal communications activities but the role will be extremely varied. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Create content to be distributed across the Council
  • Draft new internal communications collateral 
  • Respond to media enquiries when required
  • Develop internal communication service guidelines 
  • Update media plans and communications 
  • Engaging with stakeholders across the business 


To be successful in this role;  

  • Previous local government experience would be advantageous
  • Experience working on various projects 
  • Tertiary qualification in public relations, journalism or communications
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
