An exciting opportunity to work for a multifaceted, fast paced local government in a supportive environment based in the Eastern suburbs. The role will report to the Manager of Communications and will undertake mainly external communications activities but will be really varied, working on two major Council projects.

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Develop Council publications, newsletters and print materials both in print and online formats
  • Collating feedback and information received at events and resident evenings
  • Manage content on Council's website and intranet
  • Promoting the use of social media platforms across Council
  • Creating media releases regarding Council events

To be successful in this role;  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous local government experience would be advantageous
  • Experience using Adobe Indesign is preferred
  • Tertiary qualification in public relations, journalism or communications
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
