About the Company
This role is with a not-for-profit education provider based in East Melbourne.  They have over 300 educational institutes within the Melbourne region and have a newly created Shared Services department which you will be joining to help on-board and assist schools with their general ledger accounts. 

About the Role

  • Bank reconciliations/end of month reconciliations including Salaries, FBT, Credit Card statement, entering transactions into GL. 
  • Prepare & review BAS and IAS
  • Prepare financial Statements (Actual to Budgets)
  • Prepare annual financial statements
  • Reports
  • Prepare & review Trial Balance each month
  • Asset disposals - Profit and loss 
  • Maintenance of Asset Register
  • Credit control - identification of action required 
  • Ad-hoc duties as required by the Team Leader

Skills & Experience

  • 2 years minimum as a Bookkeeper or ''Assistant FA'' or Financial Accountant 
  • Cert V1 in Bookkeeping
  • BAS skills
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance (desirable) 
  • High standard of attention to detail 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, rapport building and reasoning
  • Professional and clear communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good software/technical ability to use MS packages and learn new systems 
  • Technology One experience (desirable)
  • Strong ethical values, confidentiality 
  • Patient and empathetic
