Job description

An exciting opportunity to work for a multifaceted, fast paced local government in a supportive environment based in the inner city suburbs. The role will work across the marketing and communications department and will assist with promoting Council's community services programs and working on key projects across social media and Council website. 

Responsibilities will include;  

  • Supporting online communications channels
  • Developing overall Council's use of social media and multimedia
  • Maintain content on Council's website and intranet related to Community Services
  • Assisting with media training for staff across council to allow a consistent approach  
  • Identifying areas to promote Council via social media and online channels
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and coordinate communications in other departments
  • Generate and analyse reports through key systems ascertaining media activities and coverage  


To be successful in this role;  

  • Tertiary qualification in communications or related discipline
  • Ability to advise and support with a range of key communications projects 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing social media platforms
  • Ability to work to deadlines and excellent time management skills  
  • Strong communication skills and high level of attention to detail  
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence
