About the Role:
My Client is on the lookout for a senior Payroll Officer/Manager to join their Finance team and support us with the processing of end-to-end payroll. You will be responsible for the delivery of accurate and timely fortnightly pay-runs, submission of all regulatory lodgements (payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG, workers compensation etc.)
Duties:
- Process and enable payment of staff salaries within policy and in a timely, accurate manner using Preceda. Electronic transfer of funds (EFT) on a fortnightly basis for 250-300 employees
- Ensure associated processes are completed correctly and on time, including Group Tax, superannuation, payroll tax and workers compensation and following all legislative and regulatory requirements
- On time and accurate month end processing with general ledger journals and relevant account reconciliations (annual leave, long service leave etc.)
- Administration of the payroll system with termination of leavers, addition of joiners, implementing changes to staff details (banking, contact information etc.)
- Month end reports and booking payroll expenses to the general ledger by allocating to the correct accounts
- Confidentially handling sensitive information
The ideal candidate:
- Experience with Neller-Preceda (mandatory)
- Experience with payroll and processing controls
- Standalone payroll experience as a lead
- Payroll experience including knowledge and processing of Payroll Tax (state based), Group Tax (PAYG), Superannuation and Workers Compensation
- Intermediate/Advanced level of Excel skills and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain relationships
- Proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a focus on process enhancement
- Effective time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and operate under pressure in a dynamic environment
